ZYGOMATIC IMPLANTS

The zygomatic dental implants are made of titanium and are often used when the
upper maxilla doesn’t have enough healthy bone or when you have a severe bone loss
to support a dental implant.

These longer implants are extended into each side of the mouth into the zygomatic
arch which is a bony extension alongside the upper jaw. This procedure can be
complemented with traditional dental implants so you will give a better support for a full appliance

Your dentist will be starting your treatment with a complete oral and radiographic
evaluation, then he will take a CT Scan to determinate the size of the implant and the surgery approach.

Your dentist will follow these steps:

1- Placement of the zygomatic implants

2- Placement of the denture

3- Fixation and correction of the denture

The zygomatic dental implants are a good option if you have severe bone loss and a
bone graft is not an option for you anymore.

Upper maxilla insufficient bone

 -Severe bone loss

-Failed traditional implants

-Failed bone graft

-Partial or total edentulous maxilla

-Improved surgical approach

-Shorter recovery time

-Avoid removable dentures

To receive an adequate diagnosis and treatment, a 3D planning with a CT or
CBCT Scan will be necessary.

This procedure is performed in the surgical room.
