A retainer is a custom-made appliance, it can be removable or fixed and its purpose
is to maintain your teeth straight after the braces removal. Retainers are very
important if you do not want to wear braces again.

There are a few different types of retainer, but they serve the same purpose. Your
orthodontist specialist will determine the best option for you depending on your case.

Once your orthodontic devices are removed by your orthodontist specialist, your dentist
will take a couple of oral impressions so he can fabricate your retainers. It may take a
couple of hours to have your retainers ready for delivery.

You will need a retainer immediately after your orthodontic treatment removal. If you
don’t use your retainers, your teeth can shift back to their original position very quickly.

You should wear your retainer every night for at least after having your braced removed.

Remember! Your teeth will keep in place only if you continue to wear your retainer.
