INDIRECT PULP
CAPPING

An indirect pulp capping is a thin layer of protective dressing placed on top
of a nearly exposed pulp tissue to prevent the death of the dental nerve

The tooth will be numbed with local anesthesia, then a small amount of protective
dressing is placed directly on top of the nearly exposed dental pulp to stimulate
dental structures to regenerate and maintain the vitality of the dental pulp

You might need an indirect pulp cap if your pulp tissue is nearly exposed
during a dental treatment. This procedure is to prevent the death of the dental
nerve and to stimulate dental tissues to regenerate.

-Sensitive to cold

-Nearly exposure areas while having a restorative procedure.

-Eliminate pain

-Prevent or treat infection

-Preserve natural dentition

Sometimes is not always successful to maintain dental pulp vitality,
that is why after the procedure it is necessary to keep the tooth under observation.
