A direct pulp capping is a thin layer of protective dressing placed directly
over an exposed pulp tissue to prevent the death of the dental nerve
The tooth will be numbed with local anesthesia, then a small amount of protective dressing is placed directly
over the exposed dental pulp to stimulate dental structures to regenerate and maintain the vitality of the dental pulp
You might need a direct pulp cap if your pulp tissue is exposed during
a dental treatment. This procedure is to prevent the death of the dental
nerve and to stimulate dental tissues to regenerate.
